BIO

Hailing from Sweden’s west coast indiepop hometown of Gothenburg, Hannah Smallbone writes and produces her own type of frisky girl power songs with huge inspiration from bands such as Eurythmics, Wham and Culture Club. She has years of experience as a singer, behind the piano in bars or fronting the stage with her synthesiser. Her first single, like u, published in 2019, went straight to the Spotify Fresh Finds list and she received rave reviews by PSL and in Djungeltrumman and Hymn. Around this time, Hannah started playing more live gigs, for instance, at Södra Teatern in Stockholm. Together with her co-producer Robin Rudén, Hannah creates a modern, contemporary mix of the sweetest memories of the 80s. Neon pink, patent black leather and a mullet are the hallmarks of her pop music aesthetics.

In november 2020, she released ”Heartless Lady”, a song about vengeance and feminine strength, heartbreak and heartlessness, which she wrote and produced together with Robin Rudén.

Regarding 2019 single "those things":

In June 2019, she released her debut single “like u”. ”’like u’ is about unrequited love where there is absolutely no chance in hell that it will be requited. So instead you get really drunk and write embarrassing text messages and then go home all by yourself crying with self-hatred because you’ve made such a massive fool of yourself.”
